Buenos Aires, November 29, 2025 – A key official from the Office of the Anticorruption Bureau (OA) has resigned after it was revealed that he was simultaneously working as a defense lawyer for Miguel Ángel Calvete, one of the main defendants in the case investigating alleged kickbacks, manipulated purchases, and fraudulent schemes within the National Disability Agency (ANDIS). This is Camilo Cordero Fabbri, who until this week held the position of coordinator of the Admission and Referral of Complaints area of the OA, a strategic role responsible for receiving, evaluating, and channeling complaints about corruption. Additionally, Javier Cardini, Undersecretary of Productive Management, also resigned following the corruption scandal at the National Disability Agency. According to reports, the official represented Calvete in a previous case that ended with the businessman's four-year prison sentence for the exploitation of third-party prostitution, which revived questions about ethical incompatibilities and conflicts of interest within the agency. The resignation comes at a time of extreme institutional sensitivity, amidst the progress of an investigation led by prosecutor Franco Picardi, who accuses Calvete; the former director of ANDIS, Diego Spagnuolo; and 14 other former officials of being part of a structure dedicated to manipulating tenders related to High-Cost and Low-Incidence Benefits and Supplies (PACBI). These are complex medical procedures and medications, characterized by their high cost and the prolonged treatment they require. According to the accusation, the alleged network operated by directing purchases, inflating values, and restricting competition, affecting one of the most sensitive programs in the public health system: the provision of supplies for high-complexity surgeries, biological medication, and treatments for rare diseases. The departure of Cordero Fabbri once again places the Office of the Anticorruption Bureau under scrutiny and raises questions about the agency's internal control mechanisms, which are precisely responsible for preventing ethical conflicts and ensuring transparency. At this time, official sources admit that a comprehensive review of appointments and incompatibility declaration processes is being analyzed to avoid similar situations. Meanwhile, the ANDIS case continues to accumulate evidence and testimonies pointing to an extensive corruption matrix, with ramifications in suppliers, intermediaries, and officials of various hierarchies.
